Marine research at the University of Galway (UG) is concentrated in the Ryan Institute. Ryan Institute research strands extend to 12 research clusters with inputs from over 500 researchers in UG and partner institutes. Research is thematically focused on Marine & Coastal, Energy & Climate Change, Agriculture & BioEconomy, and Environment & Health. Marine oriented undergraduate education at UG is served by degree programmes in Marine Science, and Earth and Ocean Science at the School of Natural Science. Taught MSc programmes focus on Coast and Marine Environments and Marine Resource Management.
